Most people experiencing fatigue reach for another coffee without asking a fundamental question: why is their body struggling to produce energy in the first place? When this system breaks down, nothing else works quite right.

What ATP Actually Does

ATP is the universal energy currency of every cell in your body. It powers muscle contractions, nerve signals, hormone production, and even the repair processes that happen while you sleep. You generate and consume roughly your own body weight in ATP every day – it is that critical a molecule.

    Berberine Drug Interactions to Know

    Berberine has several clinically significant drug interactions that are worth knowing before promoting it to an audience that may be on prescription medications. The most important is with metformin — combining berberine with metformin may enhance the blood sugar-lowering effect beyond what either agent produces alone, which theoretically could increase the risk of hypoglycaemia. For people with Type 2 diabetes on metformin, adding berberine should be done with medical supervision and monitoring of blood glucose to adjust medication doses if needed.

    Berberine also inhibits CYP3A4, the cytochrome P450 enzyme that metabolises many drugs. This means it can raise blood levels of drugs that are cleared through this pathway, including some statins (particularly simvastatin and atorvastatin), some calcium channel blockers (verapamil, diltiazem), some antiarrhythmics, and some immunosuppressants (cyclosporine, tacrolimus). Anyone on prescription medications should consult their doctor before starting berberine, and this should be communicated in any affiliate content that discusses the product.
